Issues with Customer Sites

Milwaukee Renaissance

http://www.emergencydigital.com/Admin/MilwaukeeRenaissance#toc12

Appearance

  • The Big Gap
  • Pages with names that begin with a numeral are immune to (:spacewikiwords:)
  • SideBar
    • Bullets in the text of the sidebar don't render on the side, but do when you pull it up in the center screen - see Main.SideBar
    • Might resolving the first sidebar issue also reduce the amount of vertical space between bullet items?
    • I don't see either of these as open issues, just a question of taste. JeffBarke ?
    • The open issue must be the discussion we need to have about whether we want the sidebar to look that way, and what a customer-user has to do to change it/get it changed on a site if desired. - TeganDowling
  • I'm not wild about the way that level 1 (single '!') header text looks when it line-wraps. - TeganDowling
  • I don't think there's enough difference between the looks of level 2 and level 3 header text fonts. - TeganDowling
  • Accessibility
    • We should be able to translate any page into Spanish.
    • Users should be able to change the text size.

Structure

Functional Features

  • Security
    • https available for additional fee - for those who want to be able to use commerce features?
  • Users can look up page names while editing without clicking a link (from Milwiki:Admin.DesirableFeatures)
  • Javascript pop-up warns users that the attempted action will result in lost edits (from Milwiki:Admin.DesirableFeatures)
  • Categories and metadata for pages
    • Partially complete 20050103 - Enabled summary box, JeffBarke ?.
  • Recent Comments list places the most recent last - reverse their order?
  • commerce - it's in the marketing text
  • Page Watch
    • Need context-sensitive wiki-bar links to Page Watch switches
      • ?action=addwatch and
      • ?action=removewatch
  • "mail" or "send" page function - MyWikiFriends
    • Address Book - user-specific, assumes (only available if) users are logging in.
    • When sending fails, allow users to retain the addresses and text they've entered.
  • What Links Here? lookup

Completed Work

Move items down here once they're resolved.

Appearance

Functional Features

  • Enable Linebreaks function - set and implement global policy for the site.
  • Decide if we're going to continue to let CamelCase terms generate links.
  • Threaded discussion pages as well as standard document mode
  • Time info is missing from these - I think we want it by default. Why not?
    • Recent Changes
    • page history
    • Recent Comments
      • Created conditional statement that hides time info for most views, but not recent changes, page history, and recent comments.
  • Security
    • Need a logout on emergencydigital.com, at least; When I'm on any machine other than my own, and I've used a password to access protected parts of the site, I want to be sure I'm logged out when I walk away.
    • Passwords: If a page's read password is not = its write password, then you have to use both (during that browser session) in order to edit the page.
  • Edit Mode
  • Comments
    • Add that wonderful comments-count after the "Discuss" link.
    • "Discuss" link's markup doesn't include #comments to cause the screen to jump down to the comments box.
    • pre-entered username in the comments box is "$LoggedInUser"
  • Interwiki settings for Emergency Digital and Milwiki built into default configuration.
  • "Mail" or "Send" page function - MyWikiFriends
    • How to address multiple recipients:
      • Allow four ways of separating addresses: comma, semicolon, comma-and-a-space, and semicolon-and-a-space
    • Text area: linewrap

Content

  • Documentation
    • The inset box below the edit box and above the preview pane, which shows the quick editing tips, still lists CamelCase as a way to create a link (this really ought to be fixed over at Milwiki, too).
